Abstract

The purpose of this research was to (1) study the current state of the short course on basic garment pattern drafting, (2) investigate opinions on the use of instructional media in the short course on basic garment pattern drafting, (3) compare demographic characteristics with differing opinions on the use of instructional media in the short course on basic garment pattern drafting, and (4) examine how the current state affected opinions on the use of instructional media in the short course on basic garment pattern drafting. This was a quantitative study that used a questionnaire as a tool to collect data from a sample of 200 residents in Chumphon Province. The statistical methods used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and multiple regression analysis. The research findings indicated that (1) current condition of short courses Creating basic tailoring designs at a high level, with a mean of 3.91, and (2) opinions on the use of instructional media in the short course on basic garment pattern drafting were also at a high level, with a mean of 4.19. Hypothesis testing results showed that (1) Demographic characteristics, including education, occupation, and income, differed and had significant differences in opinions regarding the use of teaching materials in the short course at the statistical level of .05. However, there were no differences in opinions on the use of teaching materials in the short course based on gender and age. (2) The current situation significantly affected the opinions on the use of teaching materials in the short course on basic pattern making at the statistical level of .05. The current situation that influenced the opinions on the use of teaching materials in the short course on basic pattern making increased by .781 units, or an increase of 78.10%.
