The Impact of Fake News on Older People Perceptions and Decisions
Abstract
In the digital age, information spreads rapidly and widely. Fake news has become a major and widely discussed problem. Fake news is not only a threat to the accuracy of the information people receive, but it also has a profound impact on people's perceptions and decisions. Especially the elderly who may be vulnerable to receiving misinformation. Study on the Impact of Fake News on Older Adults' Perceptions and Decisions The objective of the study was to study the impact of fake news on the perception of information among the elderly and to evaluate the impact of fake news on the decision-making of the elderly. Using a sample of 150 00The researcher used in-depth interviews as a qualitative data collection method that focused on conversation and delving into the interviewees' experiences, opinions, and feelings. This research uses Atlas.ti Qualitative Data Analysis Software to help organize and analyze interview data. Atlas.ti to assess the impact of fake news on older people's decisions in areas such as health, financial spending, and service choice The results of this study found that fake news has a significant impact on the decisions of the elderly, especially in terms of health, finances, and service choices. Therefore, education and training on fake news management is important to reduce the risk caused by fake news in this group.
