Abstract

The objectives of this study were to: 1) examine the organizational commitment of personnel at the Ban Dung District Administration Office, Udon Thani Province; 2) compare the organizational commitment of personnel classified by gender, age, educational level, average monthly income, and work experience; and 3) propose guidelines for enhancing the organizational commitment of personnel at the Ban Dung District Administration Office, Udon Thani Province. The sample consisted of 225 personnel from the Ban Dung District Administration Office, determined using Yamane’s formula. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The statistical methods employed for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Hypotheses were tested using the independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA, F-test). The findings revealed that: 1) the overall level of organizational commitment among personnel was high (X= 3.81, S.D = 0.36). When considering each dimension, the cognitive dimension had the highest mean score (X= 3.85, S.D = 0.59), followed by the behavioral dimension (X= 3.80, S.D = 0.73), while the affective dimension had the lowest mean score (X= 3.79, S.D = 0.51). 2) The comparative analysis indicated that personnel with different gender, age, educational level, average monthly income, and work experience did not differ significantly in their overall organizational commitment. 3) The proposed guidelines for enhancing organizational commitment included: (a) fostering personnel’s understanding of their roles and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of their work to both the organization and the public; (b) promoting positive relationships among colleagues through team-building activities; and (c) encouraging personnel to take full responsibility for their duties and accomplish organizational goals effectively.
