Abstract

This research article aims to study the current conditions, desirable conditions, and priority needs of innovative leadership among administrators of private primary schools in Bangkok under the Office of the Private Education Commission. The sample consisted of 44 private primary schools in Bangkok. The informants were 88 primary school teachers selected through stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, while the priority needs were analyzed using the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI modified).

The research results were found as follows: The overall current condition of innovative leadership among administrators was at a high level, while the overall desirable condition was at the highest level. When considering the priority needs, the component with the highest Priority Needs Index was creative thinking skills, followed by teamwork and participation, vision for change, risk management, and the creation of an innovative organizational climate, respectively. The findings indicate that although administrators demonstrated a high level of innovative leadership, there remain developmental gaps in certain components, particularly in creative thinking, teamwork and participation, and vision for change. Therefore, relevant organizations should emphasize the development of administrators’ capacities in these areas through professional training, the establishment of learning networks, and the provision of resources that support educational innovation. The findings can serve as empirical evidence for planning and enhancing the competencies of school administrators in alignment with current and future educational changes, which will ultimately contribute to the sustainable development of educational quality.
