Development of A School Safety System Handbook based on Iddhiipadas 4 of Banthungkraw School Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office 4

Abstract

            This research article aims to 1) A Study of the Implementation of the School Safety System at Banthungkraw School 2) Development of a School Safety System Handbook Based on the Iddhipada 4 3) Evaluation of the School Safety System Handbook Based on the Iddhipada 4 at Banthungkraw School. This research employed a mixed-methods approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 participants regarding the operational conditions and environment of the school safety system. In addition, five experts were involved in the development of the handbook, and 17 participants evaluated the handbook. The research instruments consisted of an in-depth interview form and a handbook evaluation form. Data were analyzed using content analysis and statistical analysis including mean.

            The research results were found as follows: 1) the operational conditions of the school safety system at Banthungkraw School. The findings revealed that the operational conditions of the school safety system at Banthungkraw School were primarily guided by the policies of the Ministry of Education, which were adapted to suit the school’s context. However, several significant challenges were identified. These included a lack of participation from students, parents, the community, and external networks. In addition, teachers and students still lacked adequate knowledge, understanding, and awareness regarding safety care and preventive skills within the school. The school also lacked a modern system for public relations, information dissemination, warning notifications, and reporting or complaint mechanisms. Furthermore, the budget was insufficient for procuring equipment to support students’ health and well-being. The implementation of the school safety system includes the establishment of preventive measures in 4 key areas is 1. The dangers arising from human violence. 2. accident-related hazards. 3. Violations of rights. 4. Threats affecting physical and mental well-being. 2) The school safety system Handbook based on the Iddhipada 4 principles consisted of the following components 1. Introduction 2. Objectives 3. Definitions 4. Organizational structure and responsibilities 5. Operational procedures 6. References. Iddhipada 4 were integrated into the School Safety System Handbook consists of 1. Chanda. 2. Viriya. 3. Citta. 4. Vimamsa. 3) The evaluation results of the School Safety System Handbook based on Iddhiipadas 4 of Banthungkraw School conducted by 17 related stakeholders revealed that the handbook was highly appropriate feasible and useful for practical implementation. The overall mean score was 4.84, which was at the highest level.
