Public Participation Affecting the Effectiveness of Public Service Provision Phimpha Subdistrict Municipality Bangpakong District, Chachoengsao Province

Abstract

            This study aims to study 1) level of public participation in Phimpha Subdistrict Municipality, 2) the effectiveness level of public service provision in Phimpha Subdistrict Municipality and 3) Public participation model on the effectiveness of public service provision in Phimpha Subdistrict Municipality, Bangpakong District, Chachoengsao Province. This research was quantitative research. The population used in the research was people living in Phimpha Subdistrict Municipality. Simple random sampling, incidental method, totaling 322 people. The research tools were questionnaires. Statistics for data analysis included mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hypothesis testing.

            The research results found that 1) level of public participation of Phimpha Subdistrict Municipality is generally at a high level, including in the areas of benefit receipt, decision-making, evaluation, and policy implementation. 2) level of public service provision at Phimpha Subdistrict Municipality is at a high level, including community organization and maintaining peace and order, investment promotion planning, commerce and tourism, promotion of arts, culture, religion, traditions and local wisdom, promotion of quality of life, management and conservation of natural resources and the environment, and infrastructure. 3) Public participation model on the effectiveness of public service provision was found to be at a very high level overall (r_xy=.966). The results of the normal multiple regression analysis were able to jointly predict the effectiveness of public service provision with a predictive power of 93.30 percent (R²=.933) and the results of the hypothesis test on public participation influences the effectiveness of public service provision at Phimpha Subdistrict Municipality, statistically significant.
