The Influence of School Administrators’ Innovative Leadership on Teachers’ Work Effectiveness in Schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission

Abstract

            This research aimed to: 1) study the innovative leadership of school administrators; 2) study the work effectiveness of teachers; and 3) examine how the innovative leadership of school administrators affects the work effectiveness of teachers in schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). The sample consisted of 400 teachers from OBEC schools, determined using Taro Yamane’s formula and selected through multi-stage sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire, with the reliability coefficient for innovative leadership of school administrators at .989 and for teachers’ work effectiveness at .988. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and simple linear regression analysis.


            The research findings revealed that: 1) the overall innovative leadership of school administrators was at a high level; 2) the overall work effectiveness of teachers was at a high level; and 3) the innovative leadership components of school administrators visionary leadership, networking ability, and risk management capability significantly predicted the work effectiveness of teachers, accounting for 70.10% of the variance at the .05 significance level.
