Buddhist Conceptual Base towards Science

Abstract

        Science is a process searching for knowledge systematically and verifiably which corresponds with the Four Noble Truths in Buddhism. The Four Noble Truths will lead to extrication (nirvana) but science without Kusala Dhamma will bring knowledge into lust, endurance, and misbelief which are a cause of humanity’s hardship and crisis. Science is classified into two categories: pure science and applied science. Buddhist conceptual base towards pure science is not to prevent science from dominating Buddhism, to apply pure science to purify spirit and directing science. Buddhist conceptual base towards applied science is not to be allured by science, to apply technology adequately, to apply science as a tool for spirit development, and to apply science for enhancing wisdom for Kusala Dhamma.
