STUDENTS' OPINIONS ON BUDDHISM COMMANDMENT AS THE ATIONAL RELIGION IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND

Abstract

This research article aims to study opinions, Relationship between Saranee Dharma Principle 6 and analysis of problems obstacles and recommendations on students' opinions towards the establishment of Buddhism as a national religion in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand. By using integrated research methods from a simple sampling method. A total of 172 people was using questionnaires as a tool and 9 key informants divided into 3 groups: scholars on Buddhism, Academics in Public Administration and legal scholars using the interview form as a tool.

          The results showed that the level of the students' opinions towards the promulgation of Buddhism as the national religion in the constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand was at a moderate level with an average of 3.39 National Religion in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand. It is of the view that spiritual development from religious teachings is important but the state cannot enforce or limit the expression of the human mind by its nature and the Thai state should respect religious freedom
