THE USE OF DIGITAL MEDIA IN DEVELOPING READING SKILLS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

The purpose of this article was to present the approaches for enhancing reading skills among primary school students in response to ongoing technological advancements. Digital media played a pivotal role in developing students’ abilities in comprehension, critical thinking, and memory retention through multimedia formats such as E - Books with audio, instructional videos, and interactive reading applications. These tools were allowed for personalized learning and address individual differences among learners. The integration of digital resources not only shifted the learning model from teacher-centered to student-centered but also fostered learners’ motivation and engagement, especially among students who are struggling or disinterested in traditional reading. Effective implementation involved selecting age - appropriate and safe digital materials, integrating them into instructional plans, and ensuring equitable access to digital tools. Educational institutions had to support teachers through continuous training and provide sufficient infrastructure to optimize learning in the digital era.
