Public Opinions toward the Desirable Characteristics of the Chief Executive of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, At Samat District, Roi Et Province.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: (1) to study the opinions of the people toward the desirable characteristics of the President of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, At Samat District, Roi Et Province; (2) to compare the opinions of the people toward the desirable characteristics of the President of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, At Samat District, Roi Et Province, classified by gender, age, educational level, and occupation; and (3) to examine recommendations regarding the desirable characteristics of the President of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization. This research employed a quantitative research design. The population used in this study consisted of 346 people living in the area of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, At Samat District, Roi Et Province. The research instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.

The research findings revealed that:

1.The overall level of public opinion toward the desirable characteristics of the President of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, At Samat District, Roi Et Province was at a high level. 2.The comparison of public opinions toward the desirable characteristics of the President of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, classified by gender, age, educational level, and occupation, showed that overall and in each aspect there were no statistically significant differences at the .05 level. 3.The recommendations regarding the desirable characteristics of the President of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization indicated that the President should possess moral and ethical behavior, honesty and integrity, transparency, and freedom from corruption. In addition, the President should have knowledge and understanding of regulations, laws, and rules related to local administration, as well as the courage to make decisions and the ability to solve problems effectively for the benefit of the people.
