The Current Conditions and Challenges of Wat Klang Phrapariyattidhamma School (General Education Division), Mueang District, Kalasin Province
Abstract
This article aims to: 1. Study the current conditions and problems of the Wat Klang General Education Division of the Buddhist Scripture School (Phrapariyattidhamma School) in Mueang District, Kalasin Province, and 2. Propose guidelines for development and problem-solving. The study was conducted through a review of related documents and research, observation, and qualitative data analysis.
The findings revealed that: The current condition of the Wat Klang General Education Division of the Buddhist Scripture School shows that it is an educational institution with a unique administrative structure. The abbot serves as the chairman of the school board, and the curriculum integrates general education subjects with Buddhist scripture studies. The student body includes both lay students and novice monks.
However, several problems were identified: 1. Administrative Issues: Unclear administrative structure, Budget shortages, Lack of a standardized monitoring and evaluation system 2. Curriculum and Teaching Issues: Lack of true integration between general education and scripture studies, Inadequate and outdated teaching materials 3. Personnel Issues: Shortage of qualified teachers capable of integrated teaching, High turnover due to transfers and resignations 4. Resource and Facility Issues: Insufficient maintenance of classrooms, libraries, and learning resources, Outdated information technology systems.
Proposed development and problem-solving guidelines include: 1. Improving Administration: Clarifying the organizational structure, Establishing a school development committee, Developing an information system for school management 2. Curriculum and Teaching Development: Revising the curriculum to ensure genuine integration, Developing lesson plans that emphasize knowledge linkage, Creating modern teaching materials 3. Personnel Development: Implementing systematic personnel development programs, Providing motivation and incentives, Establishing a knowledge-sharing system 4. Resource Acquisition and Development: Creating fundraising plans from multiple sources, Improving infrastructure, Developing the library and learning resources.
