Public opinion on the decision to elect the mayor of Yasothon Provincial Administrative Organization

Abstract

It must be admitted that politics is a matter that is related to and inevitably affects the lives and livelihoods of all people. This research aims to 1) study the opinions of the people on the factors that affect the behavior of choosing the president of Yasothon Provincial Administrative Organization and 2) study the suggestions on the factors that affect the people's decision-making behavior in choosing the president of Yasothon Provincial Administrative Organization. The sample group is the people who have the right to vote in Kham Khuen Kaeo District, Yasothon Province. Then, a systematic random sampling was used using Taro Yamane's formula to obtain a sample of 400 people. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. The level of decision-making behavior in choosing the president of Yasothon Provincial Administrative Organization was analyzed using the mean and standard deviation. The results of the research found that the average level of reasons for deciding to choose the president of Yasothon Provincial Administrative Organization was at a high level overall. When considering each aspect, it was found that it was at a high level in every aspect. Considering from most to least, the aspect of performing one's duties according to the law was at a high level, followed by the policy of the candidate, then the popularity of the political party or political group, and the personal qualifications of the candidate, respectively. As for the people's suggestions on the decision-making Election of the President of Yasothon Provincial Administrative Organization, including the presentation of policies used in the candidate's campaign, should take into account the possibility of implementing the policy, not a dream policy, and must be a policy that is important, can solve problems and truly meet the needs of the people.
