Publication Ethics in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Academic Journal

The Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Academic Journal serves as a medium for communication of research work and new findings between researchers and the external community. To ensure academic communication is accurate, of high quality, transparent, and aligned with international publishing standards, the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Academic Journal has established guidelines and ethical practices for publishing research papers (Publication Ethics). The details are as follows:

Duties of Editors

Editors are individuals appointed by Bangkok Suvarnabhumi University through a nomination by the Graduate School, tasked with managing the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Academic Journal. Their roles and responsibilities include:

  1. Editors are responsible for planning the journal's publication process, defining methods and procedures for article submission, and overseeing the process of article review and selection for publication.

  2. Editors must assess the format, completeness, and quality of articles before initiating the peer-review process.

  3. Editors select and invite qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the topic of the article. After reviewing, editors summarize feedback from reviewers and send it to authors for revision. Editors will verify the correctness of the article after the revision before publishing.

  4. Editors must maintain confidentiality about all information during the review and publication process and should not disclose any information to unrelated third parties, including the identity of authors and reviewers.

  5. Editors make initial decisions on whether to accept or reject articles based on the peer reviewers' evaluation, ensuring the article's relevance, novelty, clarity, and alignment with journal policies.

  6. Editors will not publish previously published articles, whether in journals or conference proceedings.

  7. Editors will not reject articles based solely on non-compliance unless clear evidence is presented.

  8. Editors must avoid conflicts of interest with authors, reviewers, and management teams.

  9. Editors use reliable plagiarism detection tools to ensure no plagiarism in articles. If plagiarism is detected, editors will contact the author for clarification. If there is no valid academic justification, the article will be rejected.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers, who are experts selected by the editorial board, are responsible for evaluating the articles. Their roles include:

  1. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality about the article and its authors throughout the review process.

  2. Reviewers must avoid conflicts of interest with the authors, such as being a co-author, which might affect their impartial evaluation.

  3. Reviewers evaluate the article based on its significance, novelty, clarity, and alignment with the journal's scope. Personal opinions unsupported by academic evidence should not influence the evaluation.

  4. Reviewers may suggest relevant research not cited by the authors.

  5. If reviewers find the article similar to or identical to another published work, they may reject it and inform the editors.

Duties of Authors

Authors are responsible for submitting original work to the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Academic Journal, with the following responsibilities:

  1. Authors must certify that their work is original, has not been presented at conferences, or published elsewhere.

  2. Authors must report truthful data based on their research and refrain from fabricating or distorting information.

  3. If an article uses others' work, proper citation must be made, and references should be included.

  4. Articles must conform to the journal's submission guidelines; non-compliant articles will not be considered.

  5. All authors listed must have contributed substantially to the research, and the editorial board will assess the contribution.

  6. Authors must acknowledge any financial support in the acknowledgments section.

  7. Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Ethics in Research Involving Humans or Animals (if applicable)

If the research involves human or animal subjects, authors must provide proof of ethical approval for the research. This approval must be clearly stated in the article.
