The Development of an Online Lesson using Google Sites Integrated with the Demonstration Method in the Basic Object-Oriented Programming Course for Vocational Certificate Students

Abstract: Abstract: The complexity of the Basic Object-Oriented Programming course, coupled with discontinuous learning time due to college activities, has resulted in low student motivation and learning achievement. This research aimed to: 1) develop and evaluate the quality of an online lesson using Google Sites integrated with the demonstration method; 2) determine its efficiency; 3) compare students’ learning achievement before and after using the online lesson; and 4) study students’ satisfaction with the online lesson. The sample consisted of 25 second-year vocational certificate students in the Computer Department at Khu Mueang Technical College during the second semester of the 2025 academic year. They were selected through cluster random sampling using the classroom as the sampling unit. The research instruments comprised: 1) lesson plans; 2) an online lesson using Google Sites integrated with the demonstration method; 3) a learning achievement test; 4) a quality assessment form; and 5) a student satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and a paired-samples t-test. The findings revealed that: 1) the quality of the online lesson was at the highest level (M = 4.60, SD = 0.52); 2) the efficiency of the online lesson was 75.36/78.20; 3) students’ posttest mean score was significantly higher than their pretest mean score at the .05 significance level; and 4) overall student satisfaction with the online lesson was at the highest level (M = 4.57, SD = 0.56).
