About the Journal

Aims and Scope

VOICES AND VISIONS: Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (eISSN: 3088-3598) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Bangkok, Thailand.

The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of high-quality scholarly research and academic discourse in the humanities and social sciences. It welcomes original contributions from researchers, scholars, educators, and practitioners worldwide that advance theoretical, methodological, and practical knowledge.

The journal publishes manuscripts in the following disciplines and related areas:

  • Anthropology
  • Communication Studies
  • Education and Language Teaching
  • Geography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Languages and Culture
  • Linguistics and Applied Linguistics
  • Literature
  • Philosophy
  • Social and Local Development
  • Tourism and Other Service Industries
  • Other related fields within the humanities and social sciences

Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies that contribute to these areas are also encouraged.

 

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts, with the exception of book reviews, undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process.

Each manuscript is first screened by the Editorial Board to determine its suitability for the journal's aims and scope and its compliance with the journal's submission requirements. Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are then evaluated by two to three independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

The identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's originality, scholarly significance, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field.

 

Publication Schedule

The journal is published twice a year.
Issue 1: January–June
Issue 2: July–December
Articles are published online upon completion of the editorial and production process.

 

Types of Articles

The journal accepts the following categories of manuscripts:

Article Type Maximum Length
Research Articles 10,000 words (including references, tables, figures, and appendices)
Research Articles 7,000 words (including references, tables, figures, and appendices)
Review Articles 7,000 words (including references, tables, figures, and appendices)
Book Reviews 2,000 words

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

 

Language

The journal publishes manuscripts exclusively in English. Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are written in clear, accurate, and grammatically correct English before submission.

 

Publication Fee

The journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 4,500 THB per manuscript. No publication fee is charged for book reviews. The APC becomes payable only after the manuscript has successfully passed the initial editorial screening.

Please note that the APC is non-refundable if a manuscript is rejected or withdrawn after payment at any stage of the editorial or peer-review process. Official receipts are issued manually upon request. Authors requiring an original receipt should notify the editorial office and provide their complete mailing address for EMS delivery.

 

Open Access Policy

VOICES AND VISIONS: Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences provides immediate open access to all published content. The journal believes that making scholarly research freely available to readers supports the global exchange of knowledge and promotes the dissemination of research without financial, legal, or technical barriers.

All published articles are freely accessible through the journal website without subscription or registration.

 

Copyright and Licensing

VOICES AND VISIONS: Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences is committed to protecting authors’ intellectual property rights while promoting the broad dissemination of scholarly research through open access publishing.

Authors retain the copyright of their published work. Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant the journal the non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the article in electronic and other media for scholarly and educational purposes.

The journal supports the responsible sharing and dissemination of published articles in accordance with its copyright and licensing policies. Authors are encouraged to comply with the journal’s licensing terms, as well as the requirements of their institutions and funding agencies when depositing or sharing their work in institutional or subject repositories.

Journal History

The journal was originally established as the "Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences for Sustainable Development (วารสารมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์เพื่อการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน)" (ISSN: 3027-7841 [Print]; ISSN: 3027-7868 [Online]).

Beginning with Volume 9, Issue 1, published in 2026, the journal adopted the new title VOICES AND VISIONS: Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (eISSN: 3088-3598) and transitioned to an English-language, online-only publication. The name change reflects the journal's commitment to increasing its international visibility while continuing to publish high-quality scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.
