Situations and Needs of the Community’s Participation in Educational Development of Child Development Center Affiliated to the Local Administrative Organization in Pla Pak District, Nakhon Phanom Province

Abstract
The purposes of this study were (1) to examine the current and desirable situations regarding the community’s participation in educational development of Child Development Center affiliated to the Local Administrative Organization in Pla Pak District, Nakhon Phanom Province, and (2) to examine the needs of community’s participation in educational development of Child Development Center affiliated to the Local Administrative Organization in Pla Pak District, Nakhon Phanom Province. The samples used were 329 directors of educational division, academic officers, educational personnel officers, and community representatives, followed by Krejcie and Morgan’s table in the sample-sized specification gained by stratified random sampling. The tools employed in data collection were (1) a five-rating scale questionnaire used for the current community participation in educational of Child Development Center with the index of item congruence (IC) in the range of 0.80 -1.0, the discrimination in the range of 0.30 -0.89, the reliability of 0.94; and (2) a five-rating scale questionnaire in the desirable community’s participation in educational of Child Development Center with the index of item congruence (IC) in the range of .80 -1.0, the discrimination in the range of .31-.84, and the reliability of .94. The statistics employed in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the index modified priority needs index (PNIModified).
The results were found that ( 1) the overall current situations regarding the situations and the needs of community’s participation in educational development of Child Development Center were at a highest level. (2) The top three highest mean of the needs towards the community’s participation in educational development of Child Development Center were the promotion of early childhood development networks on participation and support from all sectors, academics, and activities designed in a curriculum.
