The Development of a Constructivist Web-Based Learning Environment Design Framework for Enhancing Creative Thinking in Music Creation through Guitar Accompaniment and Singing for Grade 6 Students.
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were to: 1) develop a constructivist web-based learning environment design framework for enhancing creative thinking on music creation with guitar accompaniment and singing for grade 6 students; and 2) evaluate the appropriateness of the developed design framework. This study employed a mixed methods research approach, utilizing documentary research combined with expert evaluation. Nine experts participated in the evaluation, consisting of three educational technology experts, three curriculum and instruction experts, and three music education experts. The research instruments included the web-based learning environment design framework and a 5-point rating scale appropriateness evaluation form. Quantitative data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation, while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings revealed that: 1) The developed design framework comprised four design principles and six components: problem situation, learning resources, collaborative learning, creative thinking center, scaffolding, and coaching. The framework integrated constructivist theory, Guilford's four components of creative thinking, scaffolding principles, and cognitive apprenticeship concepts. 2) The expert evaluation indicated that the overall appropriateness of the design framework was at the highest level (M = 4.55, S.D. = 0.51). The creative thinking center component received the highest mean score (M = 4.78), followed by problem situation (M = 4.67). The developed design framework can serve as a guideline for developing web-based learning environments to enhance creative thinking in music education.
