Public Needs for the Provision of Public Services by the Rammarach Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Tha Uthen District, Nakhon Phanom Province.

Abstract

         The objectives of this study were: 1) to examine the level of public needs regarding the public services provided by the Rammarach Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Tha Uthen District, Nakhon Phanom Province; and 2) to compare the public needs toward the public service provision of the Rammarach Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Tha Uthen District, Nakhon Phanom Province. The sample consisted of 379 residents of Rammarach Subdistrict, selected using Yamane’s formula for sample size determination. The research tool was a five-point rating scale questionnaire, which yielded an overall reliability coefficient of 0.82. The statistical methods used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as the t-test and F-test, with the statistical significance level set at 0.05.
         The results of the study revealed that: 1) The overall level of public needs regarding public service provision was high ( = 3.80). When considering each aspect, four areas were rated at a high level, ranked from highest to lowest mean scores as follows: livable community development ( = 4.17), development of public administration systems (= 3.90), promotion and preservation of arts, culture, traditions, and local wisdom ( = 3.81), and quality of life development and human resource capacity building ( = 3.76). One aspect was rated at a moderate level, namely sustainable natural resource and environmental management (= 3.38); and 2) people with different ages, educational levels, and occupations exhibited statistically significant differences in their needs for public service provision at the 0.05 level, whereas people with different genders and income levels did not differ in their needs for public service provision.
