บทคัดย่อ
พัฒนาการของการปกป้องสิทธิในการให้นมบุตรที่ถูกขับเคลื่อนอย่างแพร่หลายไปในหลายประเทศ อาทิ ประเทศ แคนาดาและสหรัฐอเมริกา ผ่านการกำหนดนโยบายและกฎหมายมาสนับสนุนสิทธิดังกล่าว ไม่ว่าจะเป็นสิทธิในการให้นมบุตร ในพื้นที่สาธารณะและสิทธิในการให้นมบุตรในสถานที่ทำงานสามารถถูกรับรองคุ้มครองด้วยการตรากฎหมายในประเทศขึ้นมาเป็นการเฉพาะ ควบคู่ไปกับการขับเคลื่อนรณรงค์อย่างยาวนาน บรรดามารดาต่างก็มีสิทธิที่่จะได้รับการปฏิบัติที่่เป็นธรรม และได้รับการส่งเสริมสนับสนุนให้ตนสามารถให้นมบุตรได้ โดยปราศจากปัญหาอุปสรรคที่ไม่เหมาะสมในทางหนึ่่งทางใด พวกมารดาพึงมีสิทธิในการเข้าถึงพื้นที่ที่่ถูกจัดเอาไว้เฉพาะหรือพื้นที่ที่่ถูกจัดแยกไปจากพื้นที่ส่วนอื่นเพื่อจัดไว้ ในการให้นมบุตร บทความฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออภิปรายนโยบายและกฎหมายสหภาพยุโรปว่าด้วยบริบทของการส่งเสริม สนับสนุนสิทธิในการให้นมบุตรของมารดาในยุโรป สิทธิในทำนองนี้อาจถูกกำหนดให้ปรากฏเด่นชัดด้วยการชี้ให้เห็น ความสำคัญและบทบาทของการบูรณาการและการประสานกลมกลืนของการขับเคลื่อนสิทธิเช่นว่านี้ในระบบกฎหมาย สหภาพยุโรป เหตุนี้เองสหภาพยุโรปสามารถประยุกต์ใช้นโยบายและกฎหมายสหภาพยุโรปที่่เกี่่ยวข้องมาส่งเสริมสนับสนุนสิทธิในการให้นมบุตรในประเทศสมาชิก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นประเทศที่พัฒนาแล้วหรือประเทศที่กำลังพัฒนาในยุโรป
