Abstract

This academic article focuses on reviewing the concepts related to the competencies of modern local leaders, specifically in the areas of communication competence and personal integrity of municipal mayors. Communication competence is highlighted as a crucial tool and medium for the interaction between municipalities and the public. Particularly, the efficient communication skills are emphasized due to the influential role of leaders' communication styles on the satisfaction of organizational members and their effectiveness in achieving organizational goals. The article stresses that effective communication contributes significantly to the success of organizational management and helps drive efficient organizational activities. Additionally, the personal integrity of the municipal mayors, encompassing attitudes and behaviors, plays a vital role. This is achieved through the creation of a positive image, identity, and personal brand, fostering trust and credibility. It is argued that these factors contribute to the leaders' empowerment and garner support from the community both in the present and future, allowing the development of appropriate policies for the local community's stable progress.
