The results of using PQ4R technique to improve reading comprehensive achievement of grade 5 students at Borwittayabangrakam School

Abstract

The research consisted of two main purposes; 1) to compare grade 5 students’ reading comprehension achievement before and after learning by PQ4R technique 2) to study the students’ satisfactions reading comprehension towards PQ4R technique. The sample of this study was 37 grade 5.3 students selected by cluster random sampling in the second semester of the academic year 2019 at Borwittayabangrakam school. The research instruments were 1) 10 lesson plans about PQ4R technique for teaching reading comprehension 2) a reading comprehension achievement pretest and posttest with objective test of grade 5 students and 3) 10 questions with rating scale of the students’ satisfaction questionnaire towards PQ4R technique about reading comprehension. The data were analyzed by mean (), standard deviation (S.D.) and t - test.
