Love & Sex, dating and chatting through friends matching application : Case study of male-female teenagers who using Beetalk app.

Abstract

This study has purposes to 1) to study the meaning of the symbolic sexual interaction in the application Bee Talk 2) to study the self-presentation in the application Bee Talk 3) to study the impacts and risks arising from the use of the application Bee Talk to finding friends, lovers or partners. This research is a qualitative research. The Informants were 3 male and female aged 20 years and above who used the application Bee Talk to finding friends, lovers or partner in 2017-2018. The researcher collected data using in-depth interviews face-to meet in locations convenient to the interviewee. In the interview, the researcher uses observation manner. The tone of the data, and analyze the data. Using content analysis and keyword analysis. Then grouped the topics and sub-topics. And to interpret and portray a sort for the purposes of research. By the results of research, found that the issues 1) which is used to solve the lonely talking friends 2) sexual intercourse by people using the application is mainly caused by loneliness. It is also the area that uses the sexual response of themselves by showing off pictures profiles that show the body, the sneaky conversation about sex and the using of disrespectful language. The self-presentation was found that the informants were presented themself through the profile picture or text chat with others. The effects and risks were found that the informants were compromised human dignity, expect and blocked from the other person. But they were not affected; just feel that may be a risk from using the application to have sex with strangers.
