Role of Library with teaching in Active Learning

Abstract

The Teaching in active learning is a learning process under The National Education Act focus on the learner is based on the concept of intellectual that focused on the learning process rather than content to help learners link or build the knowledge for analysis, synthesis and evaluation of what has been learned from the activities that would make the learning be most effectively. There are 4 important elements in teaching in active learning which are talking and listening, writing, reading and reflection. Teaching in Active Learning plays a direct role for teachers, learners and the library. The library that supports active teaching and learning should be ready in three aspects, the information resources, the services and the librarian. For the availability of information resources aspect, should focus on provision of information resources in accordance with the instruction regardless of the teacher and the learner. The availability of services aspect should focus on proactive services that reach users convenient access anytime anywhere and interesting also show the interesting activities to support library using. The availability of librarians aspect, the librarians should have knowledge of the profession, the information technology skills and the skills of the Internet and online information retrieval. The librarian should be capable to teach and advise learners in using information technology to information retrieval. Also should have general knowledge and skills to communicate with the customer positively.
