Guidelines for development of bookshelves at Academic Resource Center, Mahasarakham University

Abstract

The research on the Guidelines for development of a bookshelves at Academic Resource Center Mahasarakham University aimed to study the current situation and problems in using library services concerning to finding books on the shelves and study the guidelines in developing bookshelves at Academic Resource Center Mahasarakham University. The results were as follows: 1. The current situations using the library service of finding books on the shelves overall were at the high level. The problems were ; very hard to find books, no staff to help finding books, there were not enough computers for searching, the corridors were too narrow for walking to search for documents. Category signs of books both on the bookshelves and on the books were not clear and some were lost. 2. The guidelines in developing bookshelves are ; Must operate the appropriate personnel. Must have a chief or a designated check bookshelves, operational control closely. No check shelves staffs responsible for organize up the books on a mission other than the main work. Extending the shelves as soon as the class is full or tight. Requested the staff who organized the book, adding staff appropriated to the workload.
