Roles of Kanchanaphisek National Library, Songkhla to develop potential, arrangement, collection and local cultural heritage service

Abstract

Realizing value, cultural importance, cooperation, efforts to develop cultural heritage, arrangement, collection, and cultural heritage maintenances of Thailand are preservation of national culture. The cultural maintenances are in conjunction with mankind since ancient times. It shows a demonstration of a civilized nation including the prosperity of both objects and spirit of the nation. Culture is one of the factors that are important to enhance the quality of people life in a society. It also develops countries to have a well-balanced and sustainable growth. Kanchanaphisek National Library, Songkhla, is a governmental agency in the Department of Arts, Ministry of Culture. It plays an important role in maintaining cultural heritage especially the local cultural diversity. The primary function is to maintain cultural heritage of the community and nation to remain stable. The department has set mission, roles, and operational highlight arrangement especially intellectual properties focusing on the conservation of the cultural heritage of the nation. Another function of the Library is information service about the art and culture of Thailand, and cultural heritage of the community. The Library is responsible for the southern area composed of Songkhla, Satun, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat. People who are interested in the cultural heritages can visit it. They create network, and the power to drive conservation, and expand extensively cultural networks. Thus, everyone should be aware of the value of the wisdom of ancestors. These intellectual resources should be used to meet the most benefits.
