Using Journals of Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University’s Academic Staff

Abstract

This aim of this study was to study the usage and the problems in using academic journals of Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University. The population consisted of 300 the lecturers of Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University. Questionnaires were used for collecting data. The statistics utilized in analyzing the data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test, F test, One-way ANOVA, and LSD's multiple comparison in case of statistical significance. The major findings were as follows: Most of the lecturers used the academic journals in the library. They access the academic journals through Web OPAC; website of the Library and Learning Resources Center. They were frequently access through Web OPAC about 1-2 times per week at 14.00-16.00 pm. They mostly searched the journals in the recent year. They used the title for searching the journals and copied. Most of lecturers never suggest to the Library and Learning Resources Center to order their fields’ journals. The reason for someone who was rarely using the academic journals was because they used other services. There wanted the librarians give a suggestion about the interesting journals in each field as well as collected the journals in the related field in order to search for research. In addition, they wanted the librarians suggest them to search the journals’ title and also have the contents’ copy in the new journals and sent to each field. A problem from academic journal using in all aspects at a medium level. The problems that we found were resources, services, and atmosphere in the Library and Learning Resources Center.
