The Information Needs and Thaksin University Library Community Information Services Guidelines

Abstract

There were three purposes of this research. The first purpose of study was to study of the reading and library use of the community. The second purpose was together feedback on the services of the library. The third purpose was to determine the development of information services of the Thaksin University library to community. The structured interviews were utilized for data collection. Participants of the research convenience in Songkhla district and 4 districts contact area, each of 90 peoples with a total of 450 interviews, data were analyzed by using frequency and percentage. The revealed showed that the education, career are affects to reading to use of information and library use, students and teachers read the book more (more than 5 books per year) and high frequency of library use, official, state employees for the business medium reading (3-5 books per year), access to library minor, the general public and local government officials, most of the book (less than 2 books per year). Most people do not know the Thaksin University Library service, teachers, official, state employees for the business to involvement and use only a minority, alumni have used all of them when their students, on completion of the student do not use the service as well.
