The Study of Music Learning Conditions at Mi Fa Music School, Hat Yai

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study learning conditions of students at Mi Fa Music School in terms of learning atmosphere, teaching and learning materials, teaching staff and teachers, and activities promoting learners to facilitate learning and develop music skills to help students have a solid music foundation. The school should provide colorful classrooms and atmosphere to attract students’ attention which is essential for learners. The population of this study was fifty students and fifty parents at Mi Fa Music School, Hat Yai. The data were collected by using a questionnaire. Percentage, Means, Standard Deviation and Alpha Correlation were employed to analyze the data. The study reveals as follows : The overall students’ opinion of music learning condition is in an average (u=3.44). When each aspect was considered, it turns out that music and teaching material were in at the highest level (u=3.64) with the highest mean. The aspect of teaching staff and teachers was in a high level (u=3.52) and of activities promoting learners was at an average level (u=3.33) respectively. The aspect of learning atmosphere was at an average level (u=3.29) with the lowest mean. The overall parents’ opinion of music learning condition is in an average (u=3.28). When each aspect was considered, it is shown that music and teaching material and teaching staff and teachers were at an average level (u=3.40) with the highest mean. The aspect of activities promoting learners was at an average level (u=3.20) and of atmosphere in school and in the classroom was at an average level (u=3.11) with the lowest mean.
