Construction of Exercises for Paragraph Writing Skills Prathomsuksa 5 Students in Ban Khlong Maidaeng School Suratthani Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to construct exercises for paragraph writing skills for Prathomsuksa 5 Students in Ban Khlong Maidaeng School, Surat Thani Province, to achieve the 80/80 set criterion, to compare the students’ paragraph writing skills before and after being taught with the constructed exercises, and to assess the students’ satisfaction with the constructed exercises. The sample included 30 Prathomsuksa 5 Students in Ban Khlong Maidaeng School, Surat Thani Province. The instruments consisted of the constructed exercises, a test probing students’ achievement and a questionnaire probing students’ satisfaction with the constructed exercises. The data were analyzed using such statistics as percentage, arithmetic means and a t-test. The findings of the study revealed that the six sets of constructed exercises for paragraph writing had the efficiency of 84.53/82.00, thus surpassing the set criterion. After using the exercises for paragraph writing skills, the students showed a higher learning achievement at the .01 significant level and they showed a high level of satisfaction with the constructed exercises for paragraph writing.
