Friendly For All: For Students With Disabilities, Chiang Mai University

Abstract

Friendly for All, Chiangmai University library's development and services adaption for CMU disabled student is to research CMU users' expectations and experiences with the library. With the goal of approaching and enhancing our library's user services, resources, and physical item access. This project's requirements include assisting students with disabilities to live independently, lowering access restrictions to library services, and concurrently researching the expectations and experiences of the CMU Library through the "Focus Group" in 2021 on interview issues Service aspect Information resources and buildings. This allows the library to gain useful information and understand the needs of students with disabilities in each group which can help with information service work use the information to plan and improve services for students with disabilities in 2022, such as Arrange a service to help pick up, Reading reservation service, Service for extending the period of borrowing books, Dormitory delivery service and Improve Facebook page Disabled students of the library office Chiang Mai University and the CMU Library on Tour project in 2023 to study user experiences and current needs and exchange of opinions of students with disabilities to use the library services Chiang Mai University which has developed continuously. The project's information outcomes have been developed and discussed with all relevant departments in order to align with the IFLA, Standing Committee of Libraries Serving Disadvantaged Persons (LSDP) a portion of materials and services, media formats and service and communication with the goal of enhancing and modifying the resources provided, the physical items accessible, and the services in order to fulfill the needs of the majority of CMU students who have disabilities.
