Factors Influencing the Acceptance of Artificial Intelligence Technologies among Academic Library Personnel in Thailand: Strategic Development Guidelines

Abstract
This research investigates factors influencing the acceptance of artificial intelligence (AI) technology by academic library staff in Thailand. The technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework is used with the technology acceptance model (TAM) and artificial intelligence technology literacy (AI literacy). Data is collected by questionnaire from 151 respondents and analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression.
Results are that AI literacy is the most impactful variable, exerting significantly positive influence on perceived usefulness and ease of use. For the TOE framework, environmental context positively influences perceived usefulness, but technological context affects only perceived ease of use. Additionally, perceived usefulness and ease of use are key determinants of staff behavioral intention to use AI technology. These findings may help to formulate strategic development guidelines for academic libraries; they include boosting AI-related personnel knowledge and skill; establishing supportive policies and environments facilitating technological integration; and developing systems and training initiatives to promote effective and sustainable AI use in library operations.
