Abstract

The Office of Academic Resources, Chulalongkorn University, organized a library talk aimed at promoting information literacy in accordance with the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education. The session, titled “❌Reading Myths as Friends, ✅Reading Myths as Foes” integrated communication strategies, content creation practices, and the influence of an invited influencer into the information literacy learning process. The initiative sought to enhance learners’ abilities to access, evaluate, and use information critically while providing an engaging model for designing library talk. Findings revealed that participants demonstrated high levels of engagement and improved their information literacy skills after attending the event. Improvements were observed in three key areas: (1) knowledge and understanding of information, (2) recognition of the speaker’s role in fostering information literacy, and (3) the ability to effectively use information sources and search tools. These results suggest that incorporating influencers into information literacy practices can enhance learning effectiveness and support more efficient information access. Therefore, this approach can serve as a guideline for developing information literacy promotion activities.
