MFU Places: Applying Google Maps to Uncover the Stories Behind Important Places of Mae Fah Luang University

Abstract

          MFU Places aims to collect data on important buildings and places within Mae Fah Luang University and present this information in the form of a digital map through Google Maps. The goal is to enable users to access information easily, quickly, and accurately. The study covers 30 significant buildings, including their construction history and significant related events. The project began by studying and analyzing the physical aspects of the university. The obtained data was then presented on a website. Subsequently, the data was used to create a digital map, adding various locations and linking the pinned information on Google Maps to the website that collects related information about each building. 
         The creation of the MFU Places map can comprehensively and easily present information about buildings and important places within the university. Users can conveniently and quickly explore and learn about various places. This map can be used as a navigation tool within the university and as a public relations medium. The project is still in its early stages. In the future, there are plans to expand the database to cover all buildings in the university and link the data to other information systems of the university so that users can access related information comprehensively.
