Reservation Service System for Mini Production House by Using Google AppSheet @Khon Kaen University Library

Abstract

Mini Production House room reservation service at Khon Kaen University Library had experienced ongoing issues with overlapping bookings. To resolve this problem and make the reservation process more efficient, a new system was developed using Google AppSheet. This platform was chosen to help reduce the steps users needed to take when filling out traditional reservation forms and to improve the overall user experience. The development process followed the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes several key phases: identifying the problem, analysing user needs, designing the system, developing the application, testing, implementing, and maintaining the system. This structured approach ensured that each stage was addressed systematically to create an effective and reliable reservation system. After implementation, the new system successfully addressed the issue of duplicate bookings. It also allowed service staff to work more efficiently, especially in verifying users’ equipment checklists before room use. The system is easy to use, convenient, and includes a data tracking feature that allows for easy review of past activity. Additionally, it integrates with LINE group notifications, improving communication between staff and users. This integration enhances the safety of institutional resources, reduces the risk of equipment loss, and promotes transparency and reliability in service operations. The new system not only prevents booking conflicts but also reduces the time and effort required to complete reservation forms. A satisfaction survey conducted among users revealed a high level of satisfaction. The average score was 4.28 out of 5, or 85.61%, indicating that most users were very satisfied with the new reservation system.
