Managing Contemporary Community Financial Organizations
Keywords:
Community Financial Organization Management, Grassroots Economy, Community Participation, SustainabilityAbstract
This academic article aims to explain the meaning, origins, and significance of community financial organizations, analyze their development in Thailand, and propose management approaches that respond to contemporary economic, social, and technological changes. The article reviews relevant literature and academic concepts related to community economies, organizational management, and sustainable development. Community financial organizations play an important role in strengthening grassroots economies by improving access to funding, reducing reliance on informal lending, and promoting financial discipline among members. Their development in Thailand can be divided into four periods: traditional community finance, initial formal establishment, expansion driven by government policies, and the contemporary period emphasizing transparency, good governance, and sustainability. Contemporary management should therefore prioritize clear organizational structures, leadership, member participation, transparent financial management and accounting, digital technology, and collaborative networks to strengthen organizations and communities and support their long-term sustainability.
