ข้อจำกัดด้านสภาพแวดล้อมทางธุรกิจ นวัตกรรม และการเติบโตของกิจการ: หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์จากวิสาหกิจไทยในช่วงหลังการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19

การศึกษาวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) วิเคราะห์อิทธิพลของข้อจำกัดด้านสภาพแวดล้อมทางธุรกิจ (Business Environment Constraints: BEC) ที่มีต่อนวัตกรรมของวิสาหกิจไทย 2) วิเคราะห์อิทธิพลทางตรงและอิทธิพลรวมของข้อจำกัดดังกล่าวที่มีต่อการเติบโตของกิจการ และ 3) ตรวจสอบบทบาทการส่งผ่านของนวัตกรรมในความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างข้อจำกัดด้านสภาพแวดล้อมทางธุรกิจกับการเติบโตของกิจการ การศึกษาใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากการสำรวจวิสาหกิจของธนาคารโลกประเทศไทยรอบล่าสุด ครอบคลุมกิจการ 6 กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรม กลุ่มตัวอย่างสมบูรณ์จำนวน 558 กิจการ วิเคราะห์ด้วยแบบจำลองสมการโครงสร้างกำลังสองน้อยที่สุดบางส่วน (PLS-SEM) โดยกำหนดให้ข้อจำกัดด้านสภาพแวดล้อมทางธุรกิจเป็นตัวแปรแฝงแบบก่อตัวจากตัวชี้วัด 6 ตัว และทดสอบนัยสำคัญด้วยวิธี Bootstrapping จำนวน 5,000 รอบ
ผลการวิจัยพบว่าข้อจำกัดด้านสภาพแวดล้อมทางธุรกิจมีอิทธิพลทางบวกต่อนวัตกรรมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (β = 0.361, p < .001) โดยแรงกดดันการแข่งขันที่เพิ่มขึ้นเป็นองค์ประกอบที่มีน้ำหนักสูงสุด และยังมีอิทธิพลทางตรงต่อการเติบโตของกิจการ (β = 0.099, p = .044) รวมทั้งมีอิทธิพลรวมเท่ากับ 0.127 (p = .004) โดยนวัตกรรมทำหน้าที่ส่งผ่านบางส่วน คิดเป็นสัดส่วนประมาณร้อยละ 22 ของอิทธิพลรวม (นัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .10) ผลลัพธ์ดังกล่าวสอดคล้องกับแนวคิดนวัตกรรมเชิงความจำเป็น (necessity-driven innovation) ที่มองว่าแรงกดดันจากสภาพแวดล้อมทางธุรกิจเป็นแรงผลักให้กิจการต้องปรับตัวด้วยนวัตกรรมเพื่อความอยู่รอด มากกว่าเป็นอุปสรรคต่อการเติบโตตามที่วรรณกรรมดั้งเดิมเสนอไว้ ขณะเดียวกัน กิจการในสาขาโรงแรมมีการเติบโตสูงกว่าสาขาอื่นอย่างชัดเจน (β = 0.248, p < .001) สะท้อนการฟื้นตัวรายสาขาที่ไม่ทั่วถึงในช่วงหลังการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19
ข้อค้นพบนี้ชี้ให้เห็นแนวทางเชิงนโยบายที่นำไปใช้ได้จริง ได้แก่ การลดขั้นตอนและเวลาที่ผู้ประกอบการต้องใช้ติดต่อราชการ การช่วยให้วิสาหกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อมสร้างนวัตกรรมได้ง่ายขึ้น และการออกแบบมาตรการฟื้นฟูเศรษฐกิจให้เหมาะกับแต่ละสาขาธุรกิจ แทนที่จะใช้มาตรการเดียวกันทั้งหมด
