Publication Ethics

MCU Suranaree Journal is committed to maintaining ethical standards in publishing in order to ensure that the publication of academic works is correct, of quality and verifiable. Therefore, ethical standards in publishing have been established for 3 groups of persons: authors, editors and assessors to be aware of and strictly comply with as follows:

Roles and responsibilities of Authors

  1. Authors must not submit articles that have already been published or are under review by qualified persons for publication in other journals.
  2. Authors must take into account research ethics and must not infringe or copy the work of others as their own.
  3. Authors must cite works, images, or tables if they are used in their own articles, and state the “source” to prevent copyright infringement. If a lawsuit is filed, it will be the sole responsibility of the author. The journal will not be held responsible in any way.
  4. Authors whose names appear in the article must be involved in the preparation of the article or the research, and the names that appear in the article must have been approved by the owner of the name.
  5. Authors must present the content of the article truthfully, and must not report information that is inaccurate, whether it is the creation of false information, forgery, distortion, or decoration or selection of information that is consistent with the conclusion. In the case of the content of the journal article, it is considered the author’s viewpoint and is the direct responsibility of the article author, not the opinion of the editorial team, and is not the responsibility of the journal.
  6. Authors must prepare the original article in accordance with the journal’s “Instructions for Authors.”
  7. Authors must check the accuracy of the reference list and should cite documents from reliable references. and can be searched, for example, books, journals or research, etc.
  8. Authors must edit the article according to the evaluation results from qualified persons and the editorial board within the specified time.
  9. Authors must name the source of funding that supports the research or specify conflicts of interest (if any).

Roles and Responsibilities of Editors

  1. The editor is responsible for considering the quality of articles for publication in the journal under his/her responsibility and must select articles for publication after the article evaluation process, taking into account the clarity and consistency of the content with the journal's policy as important considerations. It must also contain knowledge reflecting perspectives, theoretical concepts derived from experience, document synthesis, or research, focusing on presenting new theoretical concepts, including conceptual models that enhance understanding leading to research on important academic topics.
  2. The editor must not disclose information about the author and article assessors to other unrelated persons during the article evaluation period.
  3. The editor must not publish articles that have been published elsewhere. Plagiarism checks must be carried out seriously and reliable programs must be used to ensure that articles published in the journal do not plagiarize the work of others. If plagiarism is found, the evaluation process must be stopped and the main author of the article must be contacted immediately for clarification in order to "accept" or "reject" the publication of that article.
  4. The editor must not have conflicts of interest with the author. and assessors
  5. The editor must not use some or all parts of the information in the article as their own work.
  6. The editor has a duty to consider the publication of research results that have correct research methods and produce reliable results, using the research results as a guideline for whether or not they should be published.
  7. If the editor finds that an article has plagiarized other articles or has falsified information, which should be retracted, but the author refuses to retract the article, the editor can proceed with retracting the article without having to obtain permission from the author, which is considered the right and responsibility of the editor for the article.

Roles and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. Article reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not disclose information about articles submitted for consideration to unrelated persons during the article evaluation period.
  2. After receiving an article from the journal editor and the article reviewer realizes that he/she may have a conflict of interest with the author, which prevents him/her from giving independent opinions and suggestions, the article reviewer should inform the journal editor and refuse to evaluate the article.
  3. Article reviewers should evaluate articles in their field of expertise, considering the importance of the content of the article to that field, the quality of the analysis, and the intensity of the work or identifying important research works that are consistent with the article being evaluated but not cited by the author. The reviewer should not use personal opinions that are not supported by data as criteria for judging the article.
  4. Article reviewers must not use some or all of the information in the article as their own work.
  5. When the article reviewer finds that any part of the article is similar or duplicates other works, the article reviewer must inform the editor.
