ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND LANGUAGE TRANSLATION: A STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF MEANING TRANSFER AND CULTURAL IDENTITY

Abstract

This academic article aims to analyze the roles and impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on language translation processes, emphasizing meaning transfer and cultural identity preservation. The study discusses the development of language translation technology through Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Deep Learning, particularly Neural Machine Translation (NMT) and Transformer architecture, which enhance translation accuracy. Although AI technology improves translation efficiency, it still has limitations in capturing implicit meanings, cultural nuances, and emotional contexts. This study presents a comparison between AI-powered translation and human translation, revealing that AI excels in speed and large-scale data processing efficiency, while human translators demonstrate superior understanding of cultural contexts. The article also proposes approaches for developing translation technology to better address cultural diversity, including the integration of knowledge from linguists and cultural experts to minimize limitations in conveying cultural identity through AI translation.
