A STUDY OF SUPPORT NEEDS FOR AUN-QA QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSESSMENT AMONG ACADEMIC STAFF AT THE FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCE, NAKHON RATCHASIMA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This research article aims to: (1) study the support needs for facilitating quality assurance assessment in accordance with AUN-QA criteria, and (2) explore strategies for preparing for such assessments. The research employed questionnaires as the main data collection tool. The sample group consisted of 70 academic staff members from the Faculty of Management Science, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, selected through random sampling based on Taro Yamane’s formula. Additionally, a focus group discussion was conducted with 29 members of the quality assurance committee. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, while focus group discussions were used to gather qualitative insights.  Findings of the Study:

1) The overall need for support to accommodate quality assurance assessment based on AUN-QA criteria was found to be at a high level, particularly in the areas of program structure and content, teaching and learning management, and facilities. Focus group discussions suggested that practical training for academic staff should be emphasized.

2) The guidelines for preparing for AUN-QA quality assessment include providing personnel with knowledge about program implementation practices, operations in accordance with the criteria, and strategies for developing relevant activities in a unified direction. This is to ensure that personnel can carry out their responsibilities accurately. In addition, the development of essential databases, support for information technology systems, and fostering shared awareness within the organization are key factors that will lead to systematic improvement.
