CONSERVATION OF THE THAI LANGUAGE THROUGH BUDDHIST PSYCHOLOGY

Abstract

The aim of the Thai language conservation article in Buddhist psychology is 1. To stimulate and awaken the consciousness of all Thai people to realize the importance and value of the Thai language, so that it will remain with the Thai nation forever. 2. To increase the efficiency of Thai language use, raise the standard of teaching Thai language in all levels of education institutions to be more successful. 3. To open an opportunity for both government and private agencies to participate in disseminating knowledge of the Thai language and preserving the Thai language in various forms to the public. From the study, it was found that Thai society has a deep connection with Buddhism, especially in terms of “language”. Most Thai language has its roots in Pali and Sanskrit. The loanwords in Thai borrowed from these two languages are words used in everyday life, both spoken and written. Pali language is influenced by Theravada Buddhism, while Sanskrit language is influenced by Brahmanism and the literature of Mahabharata and Ramayana.
