Abstract

Currently, in medical education, it is essential to have a foundation in physiology. Additionally, with the emergence of Virtual Reality (VR) technology, it is playing a significant role in education. Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center has organized an activity The VR Anatomy Challenge Unleashing the Human Anatomy Puzzle that involves selecting educational content from the VR platform called 'Human Anatomy Puzzle.' This is a game designed to enhance learning about physiological systems, presenting content in a virtual environment that can be interacted with through VR glasses, offering various learning modes to promote analytical skills, knowledge, and accuracy. This initiative encourages students to participate in out-of-classroom activities, providing them with the opportunity to learn through immersive VR technology. It was found that students' post-test scores assessing their knowledge of basic physiology were significantly higher after playing the game compared to their pre-test scores. Additionally, a survey revealed that students were highly satisfied with an average rating of 4.95. In summary, the application of VR games for education effectively enhances knowledge and understanding of fundamental physiology. It opens up new learning experiences in a virtual world.
